Can you play a sound in the background of cmd? (Scripting and Programming Editing/Tips)

i know you can have this:
<audio_program> /play /close <file>
i have it set so the sound recorder plays it but when i use it in batch the player pops up. How can i set it so the player, plays the file in the background? Also can you please tell me the batch code?
